This is typical when porting a theme from drupal 5 to drupal 6
the $language variable will give you:
Object of class stdClass could not be converted to string in /srv/www/vhosts/drupal_6x/sites/www.bedandbreakfastsavoia.it/themes/leaf/page.tpl.php on line 3
till you replace that with $language->language
